Your Role
We are looking for a Hiring Manager to own how Vacier grows its team. This is not a traditional HR or recruitment role. We are looking for someone who understands people at a deeper level—who can read beyond a portfolio or a CV and identify whether someone has the character and working style to thrive in a design-led company.
You will be responsible for finding, evaluating, and bringing in the right people—not just the most qualified ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Identification & Sourcing: Build and maintain a pipeline of strong candidates across creative, operational, and commercial roles. Know where to find people who are exceptional at what they do and are not necessarily looking—and know how to get their attention.
- Evaluation & Fit Assessment: Go beyond credentials. Assess how candidates think, communicate, take ownership, and handle creative tension. Identify the soft skills that matter in a small, fast-moving team: directness, taste, low ego, high standards, and the ability to lead without a title. Recognize when someone is technically strong but culturally wrong.
- Process & Candidate Experience: Design and run a hiring process. Ensure every candidate interaction reflects the brand—clear, considered, and respectful of their time. Move with urgency when the right person is in front of you.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the CEO and Managing Director to understand exactly what each role needs—not just the job description, but the personality, working style, and growth trajectory. Translate those needs into sharp evaluation criteria and hold them consistently across candidates. Feed back what you are hearing from the market—what talent expects, where we are competitive, and where we are not.
- Team & Culture: Understand the existing team well enough to know what a new hire will walk into. Think about team dynamics, not just individual capability. Protect the culture not by defining it rigidly, but by recognizing what does and does not belong in it.
Experience & Background
- Proven experience: In talent acquisition, people operations, or a closely related role—ideally within fashion, luxury, creative industries, or premium e-commerce.
- Design-led understanding: You understand what it takes to work in a design-led environment.
- Soft skills track record: A strong track record of hiring for ownership, communication, adaptability, and taste—not just hard qualifications.
- Cross-functional hiring: Experience hiring across multiple functions: creative, technical, operational.
